Toasting With Celebration-Worthy Beers!

toastWhile most of us would agree, a nice glass of the bubbly stuff is how we’ll great midnight Tuesday, there are plenty of great celebration-worthy beers we’re drinking right now. What would Jimmy drink (WWJD???) to celebrate? Well, we have a partial list here, or you can check out some of our celebration-worthy brews over at Complex.

Among Jimmy’s choices are:

  • Barrier Brewing’s Barnacle Brown – an easy-drinking, mellow American brown that still packs a bit of a punch at 6.2% ABV.
  • Trappist Achel Bruin from St. Benedictusabdij de Achelse – You can drink as big as you want with the various degrees (we love the 8°, but the 5° might be better suited for daytime drinking) of this classic Belgian Trappist ale.
  • Trappiste Rochefort – another Belgian Trappist with a wide-range on ABVs (the 8 is 9.2%), this is one of our favorites for celebrating.
  • Adnams Broadside – This UK brewer makes an ESB that is everything you’d expect it to be; sessionable (4.7% ABV) to boot!

And if you’re looking for the best beer party for New Year’s Eve, our open bar tickets are still available. Ring in 2014 with Jimmy’s No. 43!

Celebrate at Jimmy’s No. 43 Craft Beer & Kitchen Open Through The Holidays

jimmys_boxingDay2013Yes, it’s true! We’re open Christmas Day and every day this week. For the last three years, Jimmy’s No. 43 has been home away from home for those who (a) need a “family” to borrow for the day, (b) don’t want to celebrate (or celebrate traditionally), (c) don’t want to cook (or have no kitchen in their 8-story walk-up, (d) want craft beer with their Christmas Day dinner, or (e) make your own reason here! It doesn’t matter why you join us at our craft beer & kitchen for a buffet of traditional holiday dishes (roasts, veggies, dessert), but for only $25 (beverages, tax and tip additional) you get a plate at our table for a very Berry Christmas! (We open at 1 p.m. and expect dinner to be served by 2 p.m.; tickets available here. Bar service will be available all evening for those who want to drop by for a beer later in the day.)

Then on Thursday, December 26th, we’ll have our annual Boxing Day coat drive: a new or gently-used coat gets you a free pint! And on New Year’s Eve, we’ll be celebrating with an early bird dinner or our open bar from 9 p.m. – midnight.

No matter what you’re doing this week, Jimmy’s No. 43 has craft beer and our kitchen to keep you in the holiday spirit as we make our way to 2014. Cheers!

Craft Beer Christmas Celebrations!

OtherHalfBrewingWe’re starting off our celebrating a bit early (why wait for Friday?) as we welcome a few of our very favorite NYC brewers to a Jimmy’s No. 43 Celebrate NYC Craft Beer Party. From 6 p.m. on this evening, we’ll have an amazing line-up of craft beers headlined by Brooklyn’s latest brewery, Other Half Brewing. Their Jimmy’s No. 43 premiere will include:

  • IPA
  • Green Diamonds Imperial IPA
  • Doug Cascadian Dark Ale
  • Motueka Pale Ale

And because it’s better to celebrate with friends, we’ll have Kelso Brookyn (Jess Tabac representing), Bridge and Tunnel (Rich Castagna back in the house), 508 Gastrobrewery, and Big Alice (with Kyle Hurst) here, as well. And we have some great new menu items to pair with these beers: Biscuits with Red Eye Gravy, Pig and Pickle plates, and our award-winning grass-fed burger!

Plus, there’s still plenty of time to join in for our Spanish Xmas Caga Tió events taking place this Saturday, December 21st (pay-as-you-go and 7 p.m. dinner options) or our Christmas Day Craft Beer Dinner (tickets here). Raise your cup (er, pint) of cheer and join us for our very Beery Christmas!
