Peace and Happy! Ring it in with Jimmy’s No. 43

SpanishBeerWe’re watching the snow fall and the Santas take the city, but we’re ready for plenty of cheer of our own at Jimmy’s No. 43. We’ve got a great line-up of beers this weekend plus plenty of food options, and we’re a great place to shop for gift certificates or just to come in to see what beer people are hanging out.

We’re especially looking forward to two events in the next week. On Thursday, we’ll be celebrating NYC breweries with a great line-up that will include Kelso Brookyn, Bridge and Tunnel, 508 Gastrobrewery, Big Alice, and the newest of the bunch, Other Half Brewing, who will be bringing several of their beers, including the awesome Green Diamonds Imperial IPA.

Next Saturday, December 21st, we’ll be celebrating the Solstice with Iberian United’s Spanish Xmas! We’ll be pouring great Spanish beers all afternoon, and from 3-6 p.m., we’ll be celebrating Caga Tió, the Spanish Christmas tradition with a decorated yule log.

Then at 7 p.m. on 12/21, you can join us for a rare Saturday night prix fixe dinner with beer friends. Jessica and Johnny from Iberian United will pair their beers to a five-course tapas menu created by guest chef (and new The Taste competitor) Louise Leonard. Our dinners with Jessica and Johnny are renown for fun, and this one, celebrating the Caga Tió is going to be one for the ages! This is a ticketed event, so be sure to get yours here before we sell out.
For Christmas, we’ll have our annual Craft Beer Christmas brunch, and New Year’s Eve options include an Early Bird Prix Fixe Dinner and our annual open bar celebration!
And there are still some openings for holiday parties (any size, we’ll set you up!). Join us for some ho ho ho!

It’s A Wonderful Life Rally, Raffle, Party At Jimmy’s No. 43

WonderfulLifeAs the holiday season is now upon us, we’re turning to our friends in the beer community to help support us with an “It’s a Wonderful Life” rally. As some of you know, we’re still paying down financial obligations dating back to last year when Hurricane Sandy hit New York. We’re looking for a few guardian angels to help out Jimmy (Stewart) so that we can start off with a clean slate in 2014.

We’re kicking off a very special Rally & Fundraiser this week. This push for your support will run through December 15th 22nd, and all you have to do is purchase a gift certificate to enjoy the great beer and food you already love at Jimmy’s No. 43. For every gift certificate of $25 or more that you purchase between now and December 15th 22nd, your name will be entered into our Rare Bottle Raffle. And we’ll keep adding your name for every $25 you spend (so if you purchase two $25 or one $50 gift certificate, you’ll get two entries; spend $100 and get four entries, and so on). Winners will be notified the week of December 16th 22nd (just in time to share with friends and family).

Our gift certificates never expire, are transferable (they make great gifts!), and can be spent on food and drink all year long. And if you want to support us at the Patron level ($500+) you’ll be invited to special events and receive extra benefits in 2014!

We know you love the food, beer and ambiance here, where you can rely on Jimmy’s No. 43 to meet interesting people and taste awesome beer. Please click on this link to buy gift certificates or join our Patron program via Credibles and keep the beers flowing.

To thank you for your support, we’re hosting a bunch of great events this weekend, starting this Thursday when Jessie and Augie from Carton Brewing will be taking over our taps with 15 different beers (including Epitome); we will be rotating Carton brews through the weekend. On Saturday during the day, cookbook author Louisa Shafia is hosting a Persian Potluck (bring a dish, buy a gift certificate while you’re here!) and Sunday afternoon it’s the Chocolate & Spice Home Fermentation Fest ($20 admission, details here).

Plus, Saturday night, you’re invited to our “Local Food Folk” party in the back room, where we’ll have plenty of holiday cheer as we celebrate with friends from Flying Pigs Farm, Green Rabbits and the Fable Farm crew from Barnard, VT. We’ll be serving up their produce all weekend!

We know George Bailey figured out that “no man is a failure who has friends,” and we’re grateful for our friends. Thank you for supporting us this week, and we especially want to thank Augie Carton and Carton Brewing, our friends at Barrier Brewing, Kelly Taylor of Kelso, Sixpoint and Great Brewers for all their help post-Sandy.
