What is Jimmy’s No. 43?

In its essence, the restaurant and bar is a key part of the emergence of NYC’s craft beer scene. One-third of the “Brewmuda Triangle” (i.e. three bars in one building located at 43 E. 7th Street in the East Village), Jimmy’s No. 43 was founded to bring handcrafted beers, locally sourced food with a greenmarket focus, local wine and – since 2016 – artisan spirits to our subterranean “Rathskeller.”

We have no TV but sometimes we’ll spin some tunes on a record player. Or we might be hosting an arts group or staged reading in our Backroom, which during the day can be booked for private events or parties of any age and particular need (we have AV equipment and a small stage). From business meetings to birthday parties, we offer flexible daytime options for catered events or private conference space.

There’s a particular German word that our owner, Jimmy Carbone, loves to use in describing the bar: Gemütlichkeit. While it doesn’t directly translate into English, it means we’re an open house for good company, and you’ll always find warmth, friendliness and good cheer when you’re a part of “Jimmy’s Family.”
