Come on down to Jimmy’s No. 43 for Rushing Duck, Fancy Hot Dogs

FancyHotDogsIt’s only humpday and we’re already working for the weekend. FoJ43, Patrick Martins (of Heritage Radio Network fame and author of The Carnivore’s Manifesto) has called for a national holiday to recognize our agricultural heritage and praises the best in agriculture and our food traditions. Patrick has proposed that August 1st be a National Farmers Day, and we’re happy to join him in bringing awareness to the many local farms we rely on for our craft beer kitchen.

Since it’s typically ground meat and sausages that are the most sustainable forms of meat, we’ll be having a Fancy Hot Dog weekend, beginning on Friday featuring farm sausages from Flying Pigs Farm, Violet Hill Farm, Three Corner Field Farm, and others in our region. Among our offerings:

  • *Bahn Mi Hot Dogs
  • *Lamb Sausages
  • *Chorizo
  • *Kielbasa
With the following toppings offered:

  • *Grain mustard
  • *Sir Kensington ketchup
  • *Homemade sweet pickle relish
  • *Homemade Bahn mi style spicy pickle relish
And what’s a dog without a brew (a sad little doggie indeed, if you ask us!)? We’re bringing back one of our favorite NY breweries, Rushing Duck. We’ll have them on tap, along with some favorites from Barrier and The Other Half.
While you can nosh on our dogs all weekend long (and if you’re out on Long Island, we hope you’ll join us at Long Ireland on Saturday when our Summer BBQ Rig serves up fancy hot dogs and much more), Friday evening from 6-11 p.m., Jimmy’s No. 43 will host representatives from NYC Greenmarkets and Heritage Radio Network for a fancy hot dog kick-off party (pay-as-you-go $5-8 each).
Hope you’ll join us (regular bar/restaurant service available too) and celebrate National Farmers Day!
