As part of our Mardi Gras weekend, we’ll be will co-hosting this tasting event with High River Sauces founder Steve Seabury, who will be on hand to sell and sign his cookbook, Mosh Potatoes. Your $10 admission at the door will benefit Bill Pennell (Rootstown Organic Farm), whose farm devastated this past spring during a midnight hail storm. Specializing in garlic—including early spring garlic, garlic pearls, bulbs for storage, braids and planting stock—Rootstown Organic Farm also offers a variety of potatoes and fresh vegetables, including early greens.

Cabot Cheddar will be donating cheese and GuS Soda will be providing “GuS Dry Meyer Lemon” to offer a cool relief for the guests between hot sauce tastings from High River Sauces, Tickle Sauce and NYC Hot Sauce. More hot sauces TBA…Raffle Prizes! Brunch, beer and wine available for purchase!

Any hot sauce, Ohio Organization, or Farm Relief Organization is welcome to join by contacting Danielle for specifications. We are looking for all kinds of creative participants!

Participants’ Requirements: Hot Sauce folks are being asked to creatively offer tastings of your hot sauce for approx. 50 people……you can incorporate your sauce into a drink, small plate, appetizer portions, etc….showcase your hot sauce and creativity!

A screening of the short film that shows where Bill Pennell is today in aftermath of the hail storm will be shown. You can watch a short video clip of Bill and his farm before the hail storm by documentary Food Photographer Sara Graca of Palamedes Photography.
