May Is Lower East Side History Month

FullPintWe here at Jimmy’s No. 43 are very proud to be part of the East Village Independent Merchants Association (owner Jimmy Carbone is President of EVIMA) and participating in LES History Month!

Four years ago, FABnyc and Downtown Art collaborated with LES cultural and community groups to launch the first neighborhood-wide celebration of the unique legacies of the Lower East Side. Now, this annual event involves more than 80 community groups and small businesses – including Jimmy’s No. 43 – all drawing attention to the contributions of immigrants, workers, artists and revolutionaries who shaped the LES.

Two key events this week:

  • Manhattan Sideways: A Photographic Journey Through the East Village – Wednesday, May 3rd opening reception with afterparty at Jimmy’s No. 43 – more info here
  • Taste of East 7th Street – Thursday, May 4th, through Sunday, May 7th, with 10 restaurants participating, including Jimmy’s No. 43 – more info and tickets here

We hope to see you at Jimmy’s No. 43 during Lower East Side History Month!
