It was a year ago when most of us watched the devastation from afar as a tsunami destroyed much of northeastern Japan. For us at Jimmy’s No. 43, it took several days to find out that our beer friends were okay. However, many brewers were affected by the disaster and we did our best to help them in their time of need.
Now on the rebound, one of our favorite Japanese breweries, Hitachino, has been featured the week leading up to the anniversary of the tsunami. The best part? We had an amazing celebration with Hitachino owner Mr. Toshi Kuichi, who was at Jimmy’s No. 43 with his daughter and some amazing brews (both beer and sake). We were happy to be at the party.
