The chill in the air has us hankering for big beers, and we have a great one lined up for today’s Thursday Tap™: Mikkeller’s Santa’s Little Helper. This interesting and unusual beer is Mikkeller’s 11% ABV classic Christmas ale. It’s a mildly spiced Belgian Strong Dark Ale brewed with malt; flaked wheat; dark candi sugar; Northern Brewer, Hallertau, and Styrian Goldings hops; and orange peel and coriander.
According to the brewery: “It is inspired by the Belgian Christmas beers, known for their thick warming body, light spices and balanced hop profile. Orange peel and coriander seed gives, along with the extreme fermentation temperatures, a massive mix of fruity nuances, which makes Santa’s Little Helper an orgy of aromas and flavours.”
