What Would Tyrion Lannister Drink? Westeros Feast This Sunday with Ommegang’s Fire And Blood

Fire-and-Blood-Rhaegal
Whether you’re a fan of the George R. R. Martin books or the HBO series, you need to grab a seat at the table to celebrate the return of the Westeros clan on television and the launch of Brewery Ommegang’s latest Game of Thrones beer: Fire and Blood.
We’re putting together a great themed menu (tickets available here) that we will pair with traditional brews that the Stark, Targaryen and Lannister clans might drink to slake their thirst (before, you know, slaughtering each other).
We’ll leave the war games to the middle ages, but our menu will consist of the following:
  • Dragon egg Omelet (aka frittata)
  • Root and grain stew from north of The Wall: farro, parsnips, salt pork
  • Cheese with honey
  • Medieval Pie: Mutton stew with rye crust, thyme, vinegar, currants, and bayleaf
  • Baked apple crisp for dessert

In addition to Ommegang’s Red Ale, we will be taking inspiration from this summary of beer styles that would have been in the daily diet of medieval people: Hefeweizen, Saison, Belgian Strong, Marzen and English Ale.

Hope to see you on Sunday, April 6th, at 7 p.m. for our Westeros Feast!
