Celebrate at Jimmy’s No. 43 Craft Beer & Kitchen Open Through The Holidays

jimmys_boxingDay2013Yes, it’s true! We’re open Christmas Day and every day this week. For the last three years, Jimmy’s No. 43 has been home away from home for those who (a) need a “family” to borrow for the day, (b) don’t want to celebrate (or celebrate traditionally), (c) don’t want to cook (or have no kitchen in their 8-story walk-up, (d) want craft beer with their Christmas Day dinner, or (e) make your own reason here! It doesn’t matter why you join us at our craft beer & kitchen for a buffet of traditional holiday dishes (roasts, veggies, dessert), but for only $25 (beverages, tax and tip additional) you get a plate at our table for a very Berry Christmas! (We open at 1 p.m. and expect dinner to be served by 2 p.m.; tickets available here. Bar service will be available all evening for those who want to drop by for a beer later in the day.)

Then on Thursday, December 26th, we’ll have our annual Boxing Day coat drive: a new or gently-used coat gets you a free pint! And on New Year’s Eve, we’ll be celebrating with an early bird dinner or our open bar from 9 p.m. – midnight.

No matter what you’re doing this week, Jimmy’s No. 43 has craft beer and our kitchen to keep you in the holiday spirit as we make our way to 2014. Cheers!

Feliz Navidad! Spanish Xmas Caga Tió Fiesta Today!

caga tio droolsWake up sleepy head! We’ve decorated our ceremonial Caga Tió log in anticipation of today’s Spanish Xmas with Iberian United! Our main event takes place this evening at 7 p.m. (one seating – tickets here), as Guest Chef Louise Leonard puts together a tapas menu that is being carefully paired with Spanish beers from Iberian. The pairing menu will include (subject to change):

  • 1.   Boquerones, Shaved Fennel, Citrus, Radish –  paired with Trigo
  • 2.  New Potatoes, Romesco, Garrotxa, Pickled Leeks – paired with 1907
  • 3.  Raw Beef, Quail Egg, Piquillo Peppers, Fried Shallots – paired with Porter
  • 4. Chorizo Toast, Prawns, Preserved Lemon, Parsley – paired with Sagra
  • 5. Vanilla Ice Cream, Turon, Olive Oil, Orange and Sea Salt – paired with Juliet
Our dinners with Jessica and Johnny from Iberian are renown for fun, and this one, celebrating the Caga Tió is going to be one for the ages!
Or just come in from 3-6 p.m. when we’ll be celebrating Caga Tió with Spanish craft beer in a pay-as-you-go fiesta. We’ll have our homemade Caga Tió on display, ready to drink with anyone who cares to share!

Craft Beer Christmas Celebrations!

OtherHalfBrewingWe’re starting off our celebrating a bit early (why wait for Friday?) as we welcome a few of our very favorite NYC brewers to a Jimmy’s No. 43 Celebrate NYC Craft Beer Party. From 6 p.m. on this evening, we’ll have an amazing line-up of craft beers headlined by Brooklyn’s latest brewery, Other Half Brewing. Their Jimmy’s No. 43 premiere will include:

  • IPA
  • Green Diamonds Imperial IPA
  • Doug Cascadian Dark Ale
  • Motueka Pale Ale

And because it’s better to celebrate with friends, we’ll have Kelso Brookyn (Jess Tabac representing), Bridge and Tunnel (Rich Castagna back in the house), 508 Gastrobrewery, and Big Alice (with Kyle Hurst) here, as well. And we have some great new menu items to pair with these beers: Biscuits with Red Eye Gravy, Pig and Pickle plates, and our award-winning grass-fed burger!

Plus, there’s still plenty of time to join in for our Spanish Xmas Caga Tió events taking place this Saturday, December 21st (pay-as-you-go and 7 p.m. dinner options) or our Christmas Day Craft Beer Dinner (tickets here). Raise your cup (er, pint) of cheer and join us for our very Beery Christmas!

Peace and Happy! Ring it in with Jimmy’s No. 43

SpanishBeerWe’re watching the snow fall and the Santas take the city, but we’re ready for plenty of cheer of our own at Jimmy’s No. 43. We’ve got a great line-up of beers this weekend plus plenty of food options, and we’re a great place to shop for gift certificates or just to come in to see what beer people are hanging out.

We’re especially looking forward to two events in the next week. On Thursday, we’ll be celebrating NYC breweries with a great line-up that will include Kelso Brookyn, Bridge and Tunnel, 508 Gastrobrewery, Big Alice, and the newest of the bunch, Other Half Brewing, who will be bringing several of their beers, including the awesome Green Diamonds Imperial IPA.

Next Saturday, December 21st, we’ll be celebrating the Solstice with Iberian United’s Spanish Xmas! We’ll be pouring great Spanish beers all afternoon, and from 3-6 p.m., we’ll be celebrating Caga Tió, the Spanish Christmas tradition with a decorated yule log.

Then at 7 p.m. on 12/21, you can join us for a rare Saturday night prix fixe dinner with beer friends. Jessica and Johnny from Iberian United will pair their beers to a five-course tapas menu created by guest chef (and new The Taste competitor) Louise Leonard. Our dinners with Jessica and Johnny are renown for fun, and this one, celebrating the Caga Tió is going to be one for the ages! This is a ticketed event, so be sure to get yours here before we sell out.
For Christmas, we’ll have our annual Craft Beer Christmas brunch, and New Year’s Eve options include an Early Bird Prix Fixe Dinner and our annual open bar celebration!
And there are still some openings for holiday parties (any size, we’ll set you up!). Join us for some ho ho ho!
