Join us this week for a Very Special Keg from Pretty Things

FinestRegardsWe’re using the unseasonably chilly weather as an excuse to break out a very special keg that has aged extremely well and we’re tapping with bittersweet pleasure. Our Finest Regards is a Barleywine from Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project, a great gypsy brewery that closed shop last year. Almost none of their beers remains on the market, so this is your chance to try this incredibly nuanced “big” beer (11% ABV) on draught.

What is a barley wine? It’s a strong ale, originally an English style that can age well. “Barley wine” is a term coined for this ale, which is stronger like a wine, but it’s not a wine. A lot of breweries make a barley wine, including Sierra Nevada, and many beer collectors age barley wines to bring out more flavor notes. We could have held this keg for another 6-12 months of aging, but with the slight chill (okay, it’s really cold for mid-May) we thought it was time to tap it.
